Cincinnati, OH — Fifty West Brewing Company is proud to announce that tickets for the highly anticipated 2nd Annual Punch Out will go on sale this Friday morning, June 16th, at 11am via cincyticket.com.
Tickets will be available both in advance ($15) and day of ($20). This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, July 8thunder the bright lights at their Production Works facility and will run from 4pm to midnight.
Building on the success of year one, Punch Out: Round Two promises a spectacle not to be missed. With more amateur brewer-vs-brewer boxing matches, more seating, more food, and more beer, the Fifty West team is offering attendees an experience they won’t ever forget.
Founder and Director of Operations, Bobby Slattery, had this to say about the event: “We’re doubling our stadium capacity to 5,000 seats, increasing the number of matches, incorporating live music and celebrity judges, and bringing in two beers from all participating breweries.”
Slattery continued, “We’re really looking to build on last year’s foundation. We have Kroger on board as our presenting sponsor—who shares our passion for local craft beer and Cincinnati’s growing craft beer community—and we couldn’t be happier.” In addition to the partners mentioned above, Fifty West is also excited to announce support from Chase Bank, Columbia Township, and BC Bottle Lodge.
It’s important to remember that this event is all in good fun, and that the main goal is to create an experience, and a craft beer community, unlike any other in the country. Slattery states: “Last year we couldn’t believe how many people showed up for the event, and we quickly realized we’d tapped into something special, bringing the Greater Cincinnati craft beer community together through the sport of boxing in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.”
Bob Bonder, Co-Founder and President of Rhinegeist Brewery and one of the fighters in this year’s event, let us know why he just had to sign up to fight: “I went to last year’s Punch Out and not only was it fun, unique and completely entertaining, but I found myself inspired and energized by the sport. After watching about 3 fights (and drinking about 3 beers) I was convinced that I had to participate the next time around. Now I’m excited to step into the ring in a few weeks.”
Fifty West stresses that the safety of all participants is critical to the continued success of the event. Which is why they teamed up with Danny Calhoun from Punch House gym for the second year in a row to provide one month of mandatory training for all participating fighters. Calhoun was crucial to the success of year one, and Fifty West couldn’t be happier to be teaming up with him again for Round Two.
With lifestyle and community at the heart of their business, Fifty West seeks to create unique, long-lasting memories for all who walk through their doors. Whether it’s through their sand volleyball leagues, their canoe and kayak shop, Fifty West Cycling and affiliated rides, or their massively popular running groups, you know that when you head out to Fifty West, you’re going to leave with a memory you won’t soon forget.
